Gianluca Gaetano moves closer to Atalanta: negotiations underway for €15M

Gianluca Gaetano, a 26-year-old defensive midfielder, could be one step away from joining Atalanta from Cagliari. According to Nicolò Schira, the deal includes a fee of €15 million, which would cover additional bonuses.
Gaetano, who currently plays for Cagliari Calcio and has a market value of €6.5 million, is under contract until June 30, 2029. His potential arrival at Atalanta would represent a significant reinforcement in midfield, where the team seeks to boost competitiveness.
Negotiations are at an advanced stage, with Schira reporting that a meeting is expected to finalize the deal. Furthermore, the player has already expressed his availability to join Atalanta, indicating that the parties are very close to reaching a final agreement.
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Atalanta's interest, noting that the club is closing in on the deal for a fixed fee of €12 million plus 1 or 2 million in add-ons. With the personal agreement already in place, only the official transfer remains to be finalized.
