Ernest Poku joins Besiktas: verbal agreement and buy option

Ernest Poku, a talented 22-year-old winger from the Netherlands, is one step away from joining Besiktas. According to Fabrizio Romano, the verbal agreement is already in place and has the green light from Bayer 04 Leverkusen, his current club. The player, who has a market value of €25 million and a contract valid until June 30, 2030, could give a new boost to his career in the Turkish Super League.

The transfer would be structured as a loan with a buy clause of €3 million. However, the operation also includes an obligation to buy that would be activated if certain terms are met. This means that Besiktas is not only looking to strengthen its squad in the short term but also securing a potential long-term asset in Poku.

Interest from Besiktas has intensified in recent hours, and other journalists like Florian Plettenberg and Nicolò Schira have corroborated the information, indicating that the agreement is practically finalized. Schira also added that the contract could extend until 2031, underscoring the Turkish club's intention to invest in the young talent.
