Universidad Catolica
Mushuc Runa SCA crazy finish
The match seemed destined for a draw that would benefit no one, but in the dying moments, Andrés Londono became the hero by scoring in the 88th minute. However, the true protagonist was Mushuc Runa SC, who with this 3-2 victory moves away from the relegation zone and continues to dream of survival.
The first half was a reality check for Universidad Católica, who arrived as favorites. C. Angulo opened the scoring for the visitors in the 45+2 minute, and although the locals responded with two goals in the second half, they couldn't hold onto the lead. Mushuc Runa's response was decisive: R. Carrillo and A. Zambrano scored to put the score at 3-2, leaving the home team with nothing but disappointment.
A shock in the standings
This result is not only a psychological blow for Universidad Católica, who remains in the playoff zone, but also a relief for Mushuc Runa SC, who with this victory positions themselves in the 'Relegation Playoffs' zone. Out of the 23 previous encounters, this classic adds to the history with an 11-5-7 record in favor of the locals, but today, the visitors took the best part.
The most surprising statistic is that despite being 5th in the standings, Universidad Católica couldn't capitalize on their home advantage and missed a crucial opportunity to distance themselves from pressure. The fight for points intensifies, and every match counts in this Liga Pro.
